Behavioral Health Intake Specialist - Mental Health Clinician-Part-Time (23 Hours Week)

 Summary:

 

This position is accountable for completing all intakes of behavioral health services. Mental health clinician will also be responsible for facilitating one group providing psychoeducation to families and seeing each group client individually at least 3 times over the course of the group. As the intake specialist, the clinician is responsible for conducting adult comprehensive mental health assessments for our STEM, LEAF and PCIT programs. The intake clinician will complete assessments in a timely manner, completing all required documentation and intake paperwork and collateral requests.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide assessments and complete intakes on participants to determine eligibility of services

  • Triage participants to the appropriate Behavioral Health Services program

  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports while maintaining confidentiality

  • Provide psychoeducation related to our Simple Techniques for Emotional Management (STEM) group and complete required individual sessions with participants outside of group

  • Refer clients and families to community resources or to specialists as necessary

  • Input data/info into The Family Tree database

  • Attend monthly staff and team meetings

  • Collaborate with other behavioral health service providers, court officials and parole and probation agents

  • Perform related duties as assigned

    Education:

 

  • Mental Health License required (LCPC, LCSW, LCSW-C)

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology,  Mental Health, RN) required

    Experience and Skills:

 

  • Clinician must have experience performing intakes for dual diagnosis clients and be familiar with assessing, diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions

  • Must have working knowledge of emotion dysregulation and proven record of effectively gathering information

  • Must be familiar with DMS-V as a means of diagnosis

  • Experience in obtaining benefits and authorization from insurance companies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and to work independently

  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed

  • Must be computer literate. Detail and organizational skills critical

  • One (1) year experience working in Human or Social Services

  • One (1) year working directly with families or children in home or in group settings

  • Knowledge of child development and parenting skill building

 

 

Work Environment:

 Must work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings; must be prepared to travel to various program sites, and various communities.
